Segersjö International Horse Trials was opened in the summer of 2000 under the name Segersjö Equestrian Eventing. During the first week, 193 mm of rain fell on Segersjö and its newly constructed show jumping, dressage and cross-country courses. Despite the downfall, the competition was still held in good spirits, and now we consider ourselves fortunate in that the rain helped us find and eliminate the courses’ “wet holes”, so that they never again need disturb the horses and their riders.

Today, Segersjö International Horse Trials is a two to three-star arena. During the fall, winter and spring we work continuously in order to develop and improve both individual fences and the course itself. In summer 2004 we held our first international eventing competition. In August 2005 Segersjö was the arena for the European Young Riders’ Championships – an event that we received the privilege of hosting after close competition against well-reputed equipe sports nations such as England, Ireland, Germany and Italy.

Everyone – spectators and competitors alike – is warmly welcome to Segersjö International Horse Trials. During the competition, the main focus will naturally be on the competing horses and riders, but there is much more to enjoy here – the lovely surroundings, all kinds of different shows and displays, dog shows, market stalls and, of course, food and drink.
